Daumier captures the real life experience of a Doctor's Visit in the 19th century. The Doctor checks the patient's pulse and prepares to make a recommendation. Taken from a Daumier lithograph, this sculpture is a faithful adaptation in three dimensions. HONORE DAUMIER (1808-1879) French artist, lithographer, caricaturist and painter who was famed for his biting satire. He was imprisoned once for six months in 1832 after drawing a cartoon of King Louis Philippe. Daumier produced about 4,000 lithographs and some 200 paintings, but did not receive major recognition until after his death.
